For many landowners planting a forest makes financial sense as it provides an extra source of income. It is a long-term investment that is ofter inherited by the next generation.
Forests deliver many benefits for our environment by cleaning the air, sequestering carbon and by providing habitats for birds, animals and insects.
The Department covers 100% of the costs to establish the forest and all payments and earnings are income tax free.
